Diack returns as manager ahead of first East of Scotland season

Sauchie Juniors FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Iain Diack as our new first-team manager ahead of our first season in the East of Scotland league.

Iain served us as a player during the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons and was briefly on the coaching staff before moving to Kilsyth Rangers.

He has also previously played clubs including for Morton, Stenhousemuir, Berwick Rangers, Linlithgow Rose and Pollok.

Assistant boss Adrian Hanson will continue in his role.

Iain takes over from Fraser Duncan, who left the club at the end of the season after nine years in charge.

The appointment comes just days after our application to join the East of Scotland league was accepted.

The league has been divided into three conferences of 13 teams.

We will play in Conference B alongside our Super League rivals from this season Bonnyrigg Rose and Bo’ness United.

The other former Junior clubs in Conference B are Crossgates Primrose, Dalkeith Thistle, Dundonald Bluebell, Dunipace, Haddington Athletic and Tranent.

The rest of the division is made up by Burntisland Shipyard, Eyemouth, Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale and Tynecastle.

In the second round of the SFA South Challenge Cup, we have been drawn away to Dalbeattie Star in the second round.

The league cup will operate on a sectional basis. We are in a group with Crossgates, Penicuik and Linlithgow Rose.

In the first round of the Alex Jack Cup, we face off against Arniston Rangers.

Sauchie Juniors would like to place on record our thanks to all at the East Region SJFA for their hard work over the years, and wish all clubs remaining within the Junior setup all the best.
