02/01/2020 – Dundonald Preview with David Beaton.

With a poor result last week losing 6-1 to Hill Of Beath who last season we were fairly even against, including a cup tie here at Beechwood which Hill of Beath won on penalties. It was a bit of a wake up call to the challange ahead for the club in the rest of the season.Which it’s fair to say none of the management team are hiding away from we caught up with Assistant Manager David Beaton this week to get his thoughts on coming out of retirement to help the team in its hour of need:

“It’s been an eye opener getting back into it, but very enjoyable. Last Saturday makes you question why you would go back into it, embarrassing performance and every player knows exactly how it felt and also how the fans and staff felt.

We have trained Monday night and Thursday morning  this week Basically gave them a really tough week and made clear what our expectations are as a management team and the standards expected from me, Fra, Daz, Daz and Greig. Some players got and will get a rude awakening.

We’re going into Saturday’s game after a really great weeks training with a lot of the chest, we need a battling and controlled performance. High intensity and energy needed, more resilience and ruthlessness required.

What I will say is every player is well aware of the importance of sat and we now need to kick on with desire, confidence, hard work and togetherness.”

This week Sauchie are at home to Dundonald Bluebell who are currently sitting 5th in the table and will also be looking for a result after throwing away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Crossgates last time out.

It’s our first home game of the year and new decade so we hope to see you along at Beechwood to get right behind the team!

Entry £6 for adults £3 for concessions 2:30pm kick off.
